The ability to recognize and devise strategic alternatives to upfront well planning can often be the deciding factor in delivering a successful wellbore drilled on time and on budget.  Serving as a prime example, the propensity of the Rock Creek's abrasive, chert rich lithology to destroy bits has long been recognized.  Through applying innovative directional planning and new drilling protocols within the Rock Creek formation, drilling days were significantly reduced for our client as a result of the elimination of multiple trips for worn out bits.
